I made a patch with an slightly overdriven tE-Amp (the higher the volume on your bass the more it drives). Works great with my Stingray with the tone controls all in neutral position. Hope it sounds good on passive basses...just make shure you put the tone controls in neutral position an adjust the rest on your amp. Hope you like it.
