KORG AX3000G sound editor and patches

Hi 
Some days before I tried to use KORG AX3000G with the sound editor but it didn't work.
Some how I always receive an error message. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate OS.
Now the question is: would the sound editor work with Windows XP?
Is it possible to import PATCHES without MIDI cable?
